Hotel Pension George is situated in the middle of Santorini island in the traditional village of Karterados. This is an ideal location for those visitors who seek to be centrally located for sight-seeing, yet prefer to be out of the main tourist area and experience the Greek island village life and hospitality.
There are 25 rooms and studios each with its own private en-suite bathroom, a fridge, a safe box and air-conditioning. Most rooms have a balcony, with the exception of a few budget priced rooms, which do not have a balcony.All of the studios and some rooms, have a kitchenette and a satellite T.V
The swimming pool is set amidst a lovely garden of exotic flowers, cacti and plants and breakfast is served in the pleasant plant-filled courtyard, or in the small indoor breakfast area.
At reception, guests can obtain assistance with car or scooter rental and also book guided bus tours of Santorini, or boat trips to the volcano, thermal springs and traditional island of Thirassia in the famous caldera bay.

Description of the area:

Karterados is a traditional island village with a good selection of shops and tavernas. There are fresh fish tavernas, serving typical Greek food and local specialities, coffee bars and bars, a creperie, pizzeria, bakeries and mini-markets. There are car and moped rental offices , as well as tourist offices and a laundry. In fact, within a few minutes walk, visitors can find anything they need !
Hotel Pension George is not situated on a main road, but in a quiet cul-de sac in a back street. The bus stop is a 5 minute walk and from here buses run to all of the main beaches, villages and in and out of the busy capital town of Fira.
The bus ride into the town of Fira only takes a few minutes and it is also easy to walk.The walk takes about 15 minutes

There are tennis courts 50 metres from hotel.The nearest beach is 2 klms, or 40 minutes walk. Monolithos beach is 3 klms where there is a childs play area , football and volley-ball and Kamari beach a 10 minute bus ride.This is the main beach on the island and there are water sports, diving, snorkelling and an indoor and outdoor cinema.There is also horse-riding and at Perissa beach there is a water fun park.This is 25 minutes bus ride away.

If guests inform the staff of their arrival details at least 24 hours in advance, a free transfer service is provided from the port or airport.
