In GERO-FOTIS traditional guest-house you will find yourself in the mid of an unique environment, surrounded by green vineyards and olive-trees enjoying a nice view of Corinthian bay, living at the same time an old time luxury. The house is a two-floored stone building, built in 1892 and restored in 2003 to a FIRST CLASS traditional GUEST-HOUSE, offering:
- Comfortable RECEPTION-ROOM with fire-place. - 5 big rooms of 2-4 persons each, all furnished with T. V. , HiFi, separate bathrooms, heating and with selected pieces of antiquity furniture. - Combines mountain and sea activities, as it is situated in a village (650 mtr. altitude) close to the nice beaches of EGIO, Selianitika and Akoli 8- 10 km. Also a unique environment for promenades and mountain wandering. - Breakfast including home-made bread delicious pies, yogurt and honey and meals (upon request), prepared with local food products, vegetables, olive oil and vine.

Description of the area:

THE VILLAGE
LAKKA - GROPA was founded in 1870 by families coming from Achaia and Roumeli mountains (province of Sterea Hellas). GROPA owes its first name to the area proprietor of that time. The village got its new name "LAKKA" in 1928. It is important to mention that the village was flourishing in the period of 1880-1890 due the currant trade. The reason was the crop destruction of currant in France, resulting in a boom of the exports from the entire north Peloponnese area. The high income from this trade incited people, and especially the big farmers, to build nice and sound houses for them and their families. At this very time, skilled technicians in stone chiselling came from the Ipiros province to help rebuild the village.

Monasteries close to LAKKA
1. IOANNIS THEOLOGOS
As reported, the old monastery, situated now in the yard of the new one, was built in 1425.
It is also reported that in 17-07-1827, a battle took place between Greeks and Turks in the yard of old Monastery. A monument of the killed Greeks is there to remind of this event.
There is a celebration twice a year ( 8th May and 17th July) in the nearby forest with folklore music and dances.

National Road Athens - Corinthos - Patra. As soon as you arrive to Egio, follow the Old National Road towards Aghio Konstantino and Lakka (185 km. from Athens( 2 hours 30 approximately)

By ferry from Italy:
There are daily connections by MINOAN LINES from Venice and Ancona to Patra. By road from Patra:
National road Patra - Corinthos - Athens. When you reach the 1st exit for Egio, follow the direction to Sympolitia and afterwards, turn left for Aghio Konstantino and Lakka (45 km from Patras). When you arrive to Lakka, follow the signs that will lead you to Gerofotis Guest- House.
