Detailed description:
Wanney Cottage is situated, in a peaceful and quiete location, on a private farm track, 250 metres from the A68 and Ridsdale with its family friendly pub.
The cottage is comfortable and tastefully decorated and furnished, with central heating throughout, open fireplace with woodburning stove and dining area in lounge, sunroom with stunning views over open countryside towards the Cheviot Hills, separate kitchen with all modern facilities, including dishwasher, washing machine and many extras for the more ambitious cooks
Upstairs are the 2 bedrooms, one with king size bed, one with single bed, and the bathroom with thermostatic shower over bath; extra double bedsettee in sunroom
Outside are the large garden and private paking space for up to 2 cars
We are childfriendly and provide cot, highchair and stairgates if requested
Pets are welcome by prior agreement
Bed linen, towels, electricity, heating, basic supplies (herbs etc) and endcleaning are included in the price

Northumberland, land of the "big sky", is the best kept secret of holiday destinations.
With its wild hills, magnificent scenary, abundance of wildlife, nature and places of hisoric interst it has plenty to offer to all visitors
Ridsale, being situated in the the heart of Northumberland, is the ideal base to explore the region
Kielder Water, the largest man-made lake in Europe, creadeled by woodland, offers walking, cycling, birdand wildlife watching, watersports, and fishing and i only a 30 minute drive away.
Hadrian's Wall with many Roman remains along its path is in easy reach
It takes only one hour to get to the beautiful Northumberland coast, with its deserted sandy beaches, picturesque fishing villages and romantic castles
There are many historic market towns and villages in the region or visit the vibrant cities, Newcastle in the South or Edinburgh in the North, with their architectuaral cultural
attractions and music and art events throughout the year

Because of the remote location of Ridsdale it cannot be reached by public transport und a car is essential to get around.

How to find us:
From the South, along the A1, passing Newcastle take A69 towards Hexham, turning off heading towards Jedburgh and Edinburgh in the North on A68 until you reach Ridsdale, which is about 35 miles away from Newcastle
In Ridsdale, passing the pub "The Gun" on the left and bus shelter on the right turn towards metal farmgates, open and drive 250 metres to the end of the farm track. Wanney Cottage is the first cottage on your right. The keys can be collected from the cottage next door
